Pranksters representing an upcoming Arizona State opponent have struck again in almost identical fashion as before.
Fans from intrastate rival Arizona snuck onto Tempe Butte, also known as “A Mountain,” early Thursday morning and painted the formation’s iconic yellow “A” in red along with scrawling “U of A” on it. Oregon supporters pulled a similar stunt in October prior to the Ducks’ road game at Sun Devil Stadium.
We must ask: Shouldn’t Arizona fans have painted “A Mountain” blue since red is also a school color of Arizona State?
But considering how other schools earnestly maintain a 24-hour watch on their campus icons during Rivalry Week, Arizona State might want to do the same regarding “A Mountain.”
