If you were a Washington State following the Cougars’ train wreck of a 2012 season, you would probably need a drink, too.
During Wazzu’s Saturday night game against UCLA, ESPN cameras panned to a fan in the stands taking a long swig from a bottle of Fireball Whisky he had smuggled into Martin Stadium. That he maintained an energetic fist pump while doing so makes it all the more impressive.
The fan did this after the Cougars tied the visiting Bruins toward the end of the first quarter. Perhaps he knew the end was near, as UCLA would outscore Washington State 30–0 in the second quarter en route to a 44–36 win.
More likely is that he was equipping himself with a booze coat as temperatures in Pullman, WA, have recently dropped into the 30s.
Either way, this individual and his hilarity gave Cougar fans something to be proud of in an otherwise dismal 2-8 season.
