Wayward Bat Delays PC-Marquette Game

Marquette held on to second place in the Big East with an 81–71 win over Providence on Saturday. As well as the Golden Eagles played, everyone on the roster was upstaged by another type of flying creature.

The game was delayed several times because of a dive-bombing bat in Milwaukee’s Bradley Center, one that sent players, coaches and referees diving for cover.

Friars sophomore forward Sidiki Johnson was not so lucky. After the bat flew dangerously close to his head, Johnson was sent tumbling to the court as if he had just been hit with a haymaker.

Too bad Manu Ginobli wasn’t on hand. He would have taken care of this without any problems.
