Sapp’s Mansion Auctioning for $3.8MM

First Warren Sapp was forced to auction off his collection of Air Jordan sneakers. Now his house is being sold at bankruptcy auction for $3.8 million.

The former Miami (FL) and NFL star defensive tackle is the soon-to-be ex-owner of a 15,162-square-foot mansion in Windermere, the same Orlando suburb that counts Tiger Woods among its residents.

The marble-laden mansion includes a wine cellar, exercise room, home theater, a pool with a waterslide and lazy river, an outdoor kitchen and 500 feet of private frontage on Lake Butler.

Even after the sale of his home, Sapp still needs to come up with an additional $3 million or so to cover his $6.7 worth of debt. If he hasn’t already asked the NFL Network for overtime hours, he should. Warren Sapp profile

My son knows 2 guys real well that he played football with in college. Both made it to NFL as free agents and have since proven themselves and signed very lucrative contracts. They both still rent and live on about 60-70k a year. The rest is banked. After 4 years of NFL time, they are finally investing in home(s).They are buying for investment and tax purposes. They bought where they want to live not where they play. They live by the motto that NFL means Not For Long.Smart men who probaly retire after football, with more than most NFL players who signed as free agents.
