Seven years ago, former Texas quarterback Vince Young was on top of the college football world, leading the Longhorns to the BCS national title. Now he’s out of the NFL … and quite possibly out of money.
Young, who was released by the Buffalo Bills on August 27, is suing former agent Major Adams and financial planner Ronnie Peoples for allegedly misappropriating $5.5 million of his money. Attorneys for Adams and Peoples contend that Young’s financial troubles are the product of his own out-of-control spending.
The Houston Chronicle reports that Young has “just a fraction” of his rookie contract from 2006 after being selected third overall by the Tennessee Titans in the NFL draft and being guaranteed $26 million.
