UNLV teammates, coaches and fans are grateful that star forward Mike Moser’s dislocated elbow should only keep him sidelined for a month. Video of the injury shows that it could have been a lot worse.
Roughly five minutes in to the Rebels’ 76–75 victory at Cal on Sunday, Moser dove for a loose ball along with Bears guard Brandon Smith, who fell onto Moser’s right arm (unintentionally of course) and bent it in gruesome-looking fashion.
The junior from Portland, an Honorable Mention All-American last season, eventually returned to the bench with his arm in a sling and was in high spirits after his team’s closely fought win.
Moser’s projected return dovetails with the start of Mountain West Conference play. He’s probably happiest that in this instance, an injury looked a lot worse than it actually was.
