Vandy’s Franklin Carried Mascot After Win

Vanderbilt football just seems built for awesome off-the-field video moments.

In the preseason, we saw the Commodores’ players and coaches engage in a spirited dance-off prior to a team meeting. Just days later, head coach James Franklin surprised fullback Marc Panu by awarding the former walk-on a scholarship during another team meeting.

Now, we’re treated to our first priceless video moment of Vandy’s regular season. Following the team’s 27–26 win at Ole Miss last Saturday, Franklin threw the team mascot over his shoulder and carried him to the locker room to celebrate with the rest of the team. The footage is phenomenal.

If your team had rallied from a 17-point, second half deficit to win an SEC road game and became bowl eligible as a result, you’d be excited too.
