The Harvey Updyke the world was first introduced to 17 months ago — after he allegedly poisoned Auburn’s Toomer’s Oaks — is much different from the Harvey Updyke of today.
A picture (specifically a mug shot) says a thousand words.
After being detained on Sept. 18 in Louisiana on terrorizing charges over a lawnmower dispute, Updyke was taken to Tangipahoa Parish Jail, where the rightmost mug shot below was taken. He looks tired, defeated and (from what we can tell) ready to go to jail so that people can leave him alone.
Quite the contrast to the Updyke we saw in his first publicly-known mug shot, where he came across as almost proudly defiant. We can’t say we didn’t see this coming or that he doesn’t deserve it.
