It turns out that the same over-the-top fervor that consumes Kentucky fans when it comes to basketball is now transferrable to Wildcats football as well under new head coach Mark Stoops.
On Tuesday, one UK fan parked their RV in the parking lot of Franklin County (KY) High School, where Rivals three-star WR Ryan Timmons is a senior. On the RV was a hand-painted banner that read, “UK (Heart) RT Be a Hero” in an effort to convince Timmons to stay at home and play for the Wildcats.
As the recent Bud Light slogan goes, “It’s Only Weird If It Doesn’t Work.” Timmons committed to Kentucky on Tuesday despite also receiving scholarship offers from Florida, Ohio State and Arkansas.
