UCLA Fan’s Marriage Proposal Rejected

Did your winter break not go exactly as planned?

Well imagine being this UCLA fan that proposed to his girlfriend on Dec. 23 while the Bruins were taking on Richmond at the L.A. Sports Arena (Pauley Pavilion is under renovation this season) only to get rejected.

When it was time for “Mistletoe Cam” at the game, the fan took the microphone, said “I knew I was going to do this the first day I met you” and got on one knee to pop the question. Apparently the feeling wasn’t mutual, as the girl headed for the exits and left the fan and rest of the arena in stunned silence.

For the conspiracy theorists out there, UCLA denied that this was a staged event although the couple may have pulled the prank themselves.

If not, fortunately the attendance was abysmal for the forgettable game that UCLA won, 71-63. The bad news? It’s now on the internet.

You can see the girl pushing the annoying announcer’s mic away twice during the proposal. I think having a mic in your face during a proposal would be pretty repulsive, even if you were crazy about the man.

  • Johnny Snider

Thats rotten, she doesnt deserve a good man…..

    • To Johnny Snider

It doesn’t matter what situation, if the girl didn’t want to marry him, it does not mean she doesn’t deserve a good man. It’s her choice.

      • VaalDonkie

Why continue dating someone you don’t want to marry?

    • Anonymous

That’s right. Rejecting a marriage proposal from someone you don’t want to marry makes you a bad person. She should have been so grateful that someone would propose to her, and agreed right away.

        With a sandwich too.

  • Matski

    Fake, and poorly acted.

  • Kelly

i would just say yes when the tv was on then say no later when we left, instead of being famous on the internet for saying no

    Totally Fake

  • JSM

    That was so fake!

  • panda

    awwh.. awkward….

Fake or real, guys most women do not want to be proposed to in a stadium

  • A BiPolar Guy

Real or fake, idk, i do know it was a bad idea. Most girls don’t want to be proposed to in a stadium, or anywhere with an audience, even if it’s friends and family. Think private, think romantic, think special momnet for the two of you, not public spectacle.

  • Sock puppet

    Omg, the poor guy!

  • Mike “stupid twice”

Evidently the guy does not have any close friends, if he had they would have talked him out of proposing in the first place. Guys get stupid when they marry, after marriage they put all thier energy into trying to satisfy the new wife. Here are 5 things that generally happens to the guys after they get married
    1) Get a mortgage they can’t afford (Because she just wants THAT house)
    2) Old friends going out to watch a game (what friends they were run off)
    3) Going on fishing / hunting trips (Are you serious, work around the house)
    4) Have a romantic evening at home or going out (Yea right maybe in the bathroom looking at SI swimsuit edition)
    5) Afer the honeymoon, the sex will still continue at least 2 to 3 times a week (It will probably be with one of those friends she told you she didn’t want you to hang around with anymore)

Like I said he will soon realize what a favor she did for him, hopefully his friends will keep reminding him

    • Jay

Wow, you’re an idiot and that was gibberish. That is all.

  • Rainywish

Stupid thing to do. You don’t need to publicly embarrass a person like that. Just say yes and then tell them the real answer later. Now both of them can’t go around their town without being recognized as the people who were part of this event. Idiocy.

  • Shocked Guy

Wow what a rude way to say no.

    what a b***h

  • Michelle

I told me boyfriend I would love to be proposed to at a Yankee game. It wasn’t his thing, so he did it on the beach and I still said yes. This video makes my heart break for both of them…

  • Sheri

I can’t believe that people think she should have said yes just to keep from embarrassing him. Why should someone be pressured to marry when they don’t want to…it’s the cause of so many bad marriages; giving in to the pressure, not wanting to hurt someone else, etc. I think it’s a brave thing to do with the camera on you and everyone watching. Obviously, (if it’s real), from her reaction it wasn’t something that they discussed so he never should have asked her in a public setting, especially if he didn’t know the answer.
