If troubled former LSU cornerback Tyrann Mathieu gets his life and career back on track, he hopes to mirror the post-college success of his former Tigers teammate, Patrick Peterson. He’s taking a step in that direction thanks in large part to Peterson.
Following his Oct. 25 arrest on charges of marijuana possession, Mathieu has moved in with Peterson’s family in Broward County, FL. Mathieu was kicked off LSU’s football team in August.
“He wanted to get away from the madness in Baton Rouge,” said Pat Lawler, an Boca Raton lawyer and agent for Galaxy Sports, in an interview with the Palm Beach Post. ““His mindset is to deal with his problems and get his life in order.”
On Thursday, Mathieu spent 10 minutes with players at nearby Atlantic High to share his up-and-down story. He no doubt hopes it will have a happy ending.
