Not even the NFL’s “A Crucial Catch” program is using the color pink like Towson’s football team is doing at its Saturday home game against Maine.
The Tigers have added two pink stripes to their black helmets, which normally don’t feature any stripes. It is all part of Towson’s “Pink Game” initiative, as the players will also be wearing pink socks, sweat bands and athletic tape in support of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, the largest and best-funded breast cancer organization in the United States.
It’s a great cause that the Tigers are displaying their support for. And the helmets actually look pretty good. Who knew that pink and black could work so well together? Grade: B+
