There’s nothing quite like your school’s most beloved player in recent memory expressing admiration for your former (some would say traitorous) coach’s new team.
Such was the punch to the gut that Florida fans experienced when former quarterback Tim Tebow was interviewed by the Cleveland Plain Dealer on Wednesday about his old coach Urban Meyer, who’s now the head man at Ohio State.
“I guess as hard as it is for me to say, I am a pretty big fan now of The Ohio State University,” Tebow told Doug Lesmerises.
Meyer told The Plain Dealer that he and Tebow speak at least once a week and expressed hope that the former Gator could stop by Columbus, OH, in the offseason to help mentor Meyer’s latest dual-threat QB star, Braxton Miller.
While Tebow will always be worshiped in Gainesville, this news won’t be very popular in Gator Country.
