The GIFs below pretty much sum up 2013 so far for former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te’o.
After getting exposed in the national title game vs. Alabama and humiliated in the Lennay Kekua fake dead girlfriend hoax, Te’o botched his way through the NFL combine on Monday.
Te’o started by measuring at 241 pounds, 14 pounds lighter than he was listed in South Bend. After a pedestrian 9’5″ jump in the broad jump, he followed that up with an underwhelming 40-yard dash in which he was clocked at 4.82 seconds. To put that in perspective, Arkansas Pine-Bluff offensive tackle Terron Armstead ran the 40 in 4.65 seconds.
As you can see, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh was not impressed.
As if that wasn’t bad enough, Te’o didn’t even do the bench press because he claimed to have a stinger. Adding insult to injury, he also fell down in embarrassing fashion during one of the pass-rushing drills.
It looks like Te’o could tumble all the way from a Top 10 pick at the beginning of the year to a second round selection by April.
