These days you can find former Michigan State QB Bill Burke in Lansing, MI, not far from where the southpaw became one of Michigan State’s most prolific QBs.
After several years spent as an analyst at AXA Equitable, he is now a spine specialist at Zimmer Spine. His job description on LinkedIn reads: “Responsible for offering spinal implants and devices for neuro and orthopedic surgeons.”
Burke is still in the top 10 among Spartans quarterbacks for total offense, passes attempted and completed, passing yards and passing TDs. He was also at his best in the biggest games. At top-ranked Ohio State in 1998, Burke threw for 323 yards and led a game-winning, 92-yard drive to spur the 28–24 shocker in Columbus.
