Oklahoma’s Gabe Ikard is a talented offensive lineman, having earned First Team All-Big 12 honors in 2011 and 2012. But when it comes to trash talking, he has to learn how to pick his targets more wisely.
While sitting courtside for the Heat-Thunder NBA game in Oklahoma City on Thursday night, Ikard started chirping at LeBron James, telling him he couldn’t shoot. King James’ response? Ten points in a 1:46 span — some from absolutely preposterous angles — to close out the first half.
“He said, ‘Shoot it, you can’t shoot,’ ” James told reporters afterwards. ‘So I said OK. So I shot it. And I made it. And I made another one. And I made another one. And he stopped talking to me.”
Ikard, for his part, doffed his cap to the reigning NBA MVP.

James finished the game with 39 points (14-24 FG), 12 REB and 7 AST in a 110-100 win for the Heat. The next time Ikard attends a Heat-Thunder game, Oklahoma City would appreciate if Ikard keeps his thoughts to himself.
