Rem Bakamus hasn’t played much during his freshman season, but the Gonzaga guard has provided college basketball with its latest celebration craze: The bench-warmers’ air guitar solos.
Approximately one month and a half after Bakamus struck those first “chords” during a home game against Illinois, several Oklahoma players got in on the act during the Sooners’ 73-67 win over Texas on Monday.
Following a made 3-pointer by Romero Osby that made it 48–36 OU, ESPN’s cameras panned to the Sooners bench celebrating with — you guessed it — air guitar solos. Among the revelers was none other than Fran Fraschilla’s son, James, a sophomore guard.
On second look, it appears that James is playing an air bass while his teammate sticks with the guitar. Is this a Sooners’ air band that we’re witnessing?
