Before Penn State running back Silas Redd could think about his decision to either stay in State College or transfer elsewhere, fans rained tweets down on him imploring him to stay true to the Nittany Lions or bolt for their schools.
Perhaps sensing that the reaction to his actual announcement would generate tweets even more chilling, Redd has deactivated his account, @MomentofSilas25.
Redd’s announcement of his plans is expected Tuesday afternoon, following a meeting with Penn State coach Bill O’Brien that comes on the heels of a visit to USC this past weekend.
Sources tell ESPN’s Joe Schad that Redd is strongly leaning toward transferring to the Trojans. Perhaps this tweet had a part in it.
