On Tuesday, former South Carolina LB Shaq Wilson was just planning on playing “Call of Duty” to decompress in advance of the upcoming NFL draft. Which he did — while simultaneously making the day of a young Gamecocks fan.
When Wilson tweeted that he was playing video games, another Twitter user tweeted his gamertag and asked Wilson if he wanted to play together. Wilson agreed to it and ended up playing with the man’s son.
The whole touching Twitter conversation is pasted below.
As one Redditor wrote, “For all the negative attention a player gets for doing something ‘dumb’ on social media it’s sad that you hardly ever see players praised for doing something good.”
You’re a stand-up guy, Shaq. Best of luck at the NFL draft — you deserve it.
