Myles Crosby, a senior at Colleyville (TX) Heritage High, has previously posed for Calvin Klein ads for jeans and has graced the pages of Esquire, GQ and Vanity Fair. He could be spending his first year out of high school traveling the globe, posing for photos with beautiful women and earning a six-figure salary.
But instead of showing off his face to the world, he’s electing a path where he’s risking having it smashed in. A 6-foot-3, 205-pound safety at Colleyville, Crosby is signing a letter of intent on Wednesday to play football at SMU.
“I have a passion for football and I want an education,” Crosby told the Dallas Morning News. “This modeling crap could only last another year and then I’d have no education and never get to play football. I’d regret it for the rest of my life.”
It’s worth noting that Crosby has been told that modeling is still an option for him after college. So he can be forgiven for forgoing the bright lights of photographers’ bulbs for the bright lights of a football stadium for the next four years.
Judging from the photo below, plenty of his future Mustang teammates will greet Crosby with, “Dude, what were you thinking?!”
