We’ve already chuckled at the names of some college football recruits like Jake Butt, Chocolate Wilson and Raekwon McMillan but the name of a linebacker for the Class of 2013 might beat them all: Money Hunter.
OK, so it’s only a nickname as Hunter’s real first name is Monshadrik. Oh, and he’s also the son of Los Angeles Angels outfielder Torii Hunter. Money’s brother, Darius – who is also a rising football recruit, Darius – was recently arrested for alleged sexual assault.
As for Money, the outside linebacker from Prosper, TX, north of Dallas has reportedly drawn interest from the likes of Oregon, SMU, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M and West Virginia.
It should be noted that SMU was involved in a massive pay-for-play scandal in the 1980s that resulted in the death penalty for the program, though we’re sure Hunter’s interest in the Mustangs has to do with its nearby location and rising status instead his hopes for cash handouts.
