Highly-touted RB Alex Collins was ready to make his commitment to Arkansas official at a ceremony on Wednesday. Alas, the South Plantation (FL) High star didn’t have the requisite letter of intent and had to cancel the festivities.
The reason? According to ESPN’s Corey Long, Collins’ mother made off with her son’s LOI and left the school. Reportedly she wants her son to stay closer to home to play college ball (Collins also has scholarship offers from Florida, Florida State and Miami [FL]).
Parents are normally supposed to be proudly watching as their sons put ink to paper and sign with schools. Alex Collins’ mother clearly had other ideas.
