We’ve seen college football fans end up on the end of some pretty unfortunate bets this season, including getting the Texas A&M-Alabama score tattooed on the buttocks and a jewelry store giving away free merchandise after the Iron Bowl shutout on Saturday.
But the most entertaining bet has to be Seattle sports radio host Dave “Softy” Mahler, who promised he would eat cat food on air if Washington lost to rival Washington State during last Friday’s Apple Cup. It certainly looked like a safe bet after the third quarter, as a two-win Cougars team trailed the Huskies 28-10 entering the last period. But Wazzu stormed back to win in overtime, 31-28, forcing Mahler to pay, er, eat up.
As you can see from the video below, it didn’t end well for “Softy.” He gagged multiple time while downing Purina cat food and finished it off by vomiting it up.
The lesson here? Never bet against Mike Leach.
