As part of the NCAA’s sanctions for Penn State, current Nittany Lions players and incoming recruits have the option of transferring and playing immediately elsewhere if they qualify.
It’s not just the coaches of other programs doing their part to try and lure the Nittany Lions away. It’s those programs’ fans.
Many of the latter took to Twitter to try and sell star running back Silas Redd on their team. Among the schools with fans encouraging him to transfer: Florida State, Georgia, Louisville, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Purdue and USC.
Our favorite?
Needless to say, Penn State didn’t take the overtures from other fans lying down.
@MomentOfSilas25 PSU needs you and loves you. Your name is already out there. Believe in YOUR coach, YOUR school and YOUR fans.

Penn State players such as Redd have enough to deal with when it’s just coaches telling them this and that. Twitter brings a whole Greek chorus into the conversation.
