PSU Cheerleader Falls, In Critical State

A difficult 2012 season for Penn State’s football team, 4–2 record aside, has extended over to the Nittany Lions’ cheerleading squad.

19-year-old cheerleader Paige Raque remains in critical condition after falling 39 feet from the fifth floor window of the off-campus Calder Commons apartments to the parking lot below. State College police investigating the matter say that the fall appears to have been accidental but they will gather more information.

Raque, whose brother Parker is the captain of Penn State’s men’s gymnastics team, has suffered a traumatic brain injury and now has her family by her side. This according to gymnastics coach Randy Jepson, who is acting as a spokeswoman for Raque’s family.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Raque, her family and the Penn State cheerleading community.
