Ponder: Sam Steele Not Causing Slump

Ever since former Florida State and Minnesota Vikings QB Christian ponder revealed two weeks ago that he was dating ESPN college football sideline reporter Samantha Steele, his play has been less than stellar. In the three games since then, he’s completed just 51.4% (38-of-74) of his passes and thrown just two TDs against four INTs.

Vikings fans might now view Steele as their Yoko Ono, but Ponder thinks the implication is ridiculous.

“She has nothing to do with it,” he said when the topic was brought up by KFAN-AM’s Paul Allen during a radio interview. “We’ve been dating since the beginning of the season, so she had also to do with the five wins. So it has really nothing to do with anything on the football field.”

We agree this speculation is ridiculous. It’s not Steele’s fault that the defense has allowed an average of 33 points/game during Minnesota’s last two losses.

       Fans just manufacture any excuses They blame the Q Back their defense is giving 33 points per game and they blame the hony child steele for the losses gO FIGURE

    Ponder is right, it has NOTHING to do with her!!! What it has to do with is the fact that he does not know how to throw a football more than 15 yards (and even has difficulty less than 15 yards)…He does not belong in the NFL, period…He was BARELY any good in college.

      Louie, post when you have some knowledge of a subject. Ponder was outstanding in college. I will bet you never even saw him play. Secondly, he is known  for an extremely strong and accurate arm. He has played poorly and i am in favor of another qb next year if this continues, but at least be accurate in your comments. Ponder has all the tools and defintely belongs in the NFL…which is so puzzling.
