“They’re BAAAAAACK!”
The most controversial college football uniforms in recent memory – Maryland’s State Pride outfits – will be worn on Saturday vs. Georgia Tech. Except this time, the uniforms are predominantly black. Perhaps it’s just the litany of bizarre new uniforms that have been unveiled after last year’s “State Pride” togs stole the show, but we think these aren’t half bad.
Consider it further proof that when it comes to designing new uniforms, black is better. It makes the black-and-yellow checkerboard pattern on the right side pop a lot more. And while the red-and-white pattern on the left still sticks out like a sore thumb, it’s not what your eyes are first drawn to.
Of course, we could just be desensitized to these by now. Grade: B-
