After connecting on only 39.4% (13-of-33) of his free throws during the 2011–2012 season, Penn State sophomore forward Jon Graham started out this season hitting his first four. A hiccup on his fifth attempt, however, showed he’s not completely all the way there at the charity stripe.
With 8:07 left to play against Boston College on Wednesday night, Graham — the son of former Maryland star Ernest Graham — stepped to the line for two free throws. He sank the first, but the second was embarrassingly short of drawing either iron or net.
And Graham seemed to know it with the way his knees buckled as soon as the ball left his hands. He can take solace in the fact that he’s still shooting 80% at the line for the season.
