Being a football official means keeping your head on a swivel at all times, as the field judge during Saturday’s Ohio State–Nebraska game learned the hard way.
On a 78-yard reception by the Huskers’ Kenny Bell in the second quarter, the aforementioned field judge ran down the sideline to follow the play, per his job description. Alas, he missed the end of the play after plowing in to a practice field goal net.
In a game that ended with Ohio State winning 63–38, the field judge got plenty of exercise in the game. After likely telling both sidelines to get their field goal nets farther away from the field of play, of course.
