You knew that former Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl was going to have to take a job well beneath him after getting fired in March for NCAA violations.
But no one could have expected his next stop would be in the NBA Developmental League. According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, that just might happen.
Wojnarowski is reporting that the NBDL’s Maine Red Claws are courting Pearl, who is open to the idea and also considering a move to the NBA or broadcast booth.

Pearl, 51, is a native of Boston and attended Boston College, so it might not be that far-fetched. And the D-League has been a landing spot for fired college coaches, as former Baylor head coach Dave Bliss, ex-Missouri head coach Quin Snyder and former DePaul head man Joey Meyer have all landed in the D-League in the past.
