Much like his first couple months on the job, new West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen’s skydiving endeavor on Tuesday ended with a big thud after he jumped out of a plane to celebrate Flag Day in Beckley, WV.
Said Holgorsen about the crash landing to the Charleston Daily Mail: “Then we came in and we were trying to land on a beach, obviously a small, little beach. It was pretty windy and we came up short and had kind of a crash landing. It resembled something like (West Virginia defensive end) Bruce Irvin tackling a quarterback.”
The famously laid-back coach who likes to wear flip-flops and shorts to practice was thrown out of a casino last month after 3 AM and was sabotaged by his own head coach when Bill Stewart spread inaccuracies about him and asked the media to “dig up dirt” on the former Oklahoma State offensive coordinator.
To his credit, Holgorsen got up and dusted himself off much like he will need to do after being thrust into the lead role for the Mountaineers last Friday.
