Hoke Installs Motivational OSU Sign

Apparently adding two clocks to Schembechler Hall that say “Beat Ohio” on them and count down the days, hours and minutes until The Game on Nov. 26 wasn’t enough for Michigan head football coach Brady Hoke.

He’s now also added a sign that lists the number of days since Michigan last beat Ohio State on Nov. 22, 2003: 2,824. Oddly enough, Hoke again references the Buckeyes as only “Ohio” on the sign, which has become his trademark in the rivalry.

If Michigan is going to end the streak, this is the year to do it. Not only is the game in Ann Arbor, Jim Tressel has resigned, Terrelle Pryor is off to the NFL and the Buckeyes are awaiting a possible postseason ban from the NCAA.

    Since 1950 (that’s 61 years michigan fan) Ohio State has SIX national championships, UM has only one. And by the way , Yale and Princeton have twice as many, and then some, as UM. I guess you could put UM in the same category since, like Yale and Princeton, UM has been equally as irrelevant lately.

    My golfing buddy here in California grew up with Hoke. He says Hoke has always been a fat little turd who wanted to pick a fight with weaklings. One day he saw Hoke get absolutely bruised by someone half his size. He also said Hoke has added those cute little bangs since they last saw each other. He heard that Hoke’s boyfriend insisted on those bangs.

    I understand that OSU and UM are a rival. HOWEVER, he is way too wrapped up on this ONE game and not putting EMPHASIS on all the others. HEY COACH…the OSU game is at the END of the season. I hope your team doesn’t lose its focus on all the others.

    1. Hoke is leaving off the state because he in bringing back the Michigan traditions of old the ones that have seemed to slowly disappear. No did the same thing.

    2. How can you say anything about this guys head coaching record? Look at the teams he coached Ball State and San Diego State he turned two of the worst programs around to respectable teams. Imagine what he can do with a proven powerhouse where top recruits fall into your lap.

    3. Michigan did cheat…they practiced too much whoopity doo. Ohio violated major rules violations involving improper benefits. Last I checked Michigan has never been accused of such infractions.

    You Ohio fans are all the same. You don’t get your facts straight before talking sh**. You will attack any program just so you can forget the fact your team is in worse shape than Michigan. Last I checked Michigan had a win in 2010…that’s more than you buckeyes can say 0-1 I believe was your record…

    1901, 1902, 1903, 1904, 1918, 1923, 1932, 1933, 1947, 1948, 1997

    1932 was the first National Championship NOT to be named retroactive, named champions by the Dickinson System
    In 1933 Boand System, Dickinson System, Houlgate System, and Parke H. Davis were the only mathematical systems to name them National Champions in that year (not retroactive)
    The AP Poll began in 1936, the Coaches Poll began in 1950. These polls have been the dominate National Champion selector since their inception.
    In 1947 the Helms Athletic Foundation was the only poll and non-mathematical formula to name michigan champion, the most recognized poll (AP) named Notre Dame champion. But michigan tries to claim it anyway.
    In 1948 michigan were consensus National Champions.
    In 1997 was named National Champion by the AP Poll, Football News, Football Writers Association of America, National Football Foundation and Sporting News. While the Coaches Poll and every mathematical system named Nebraska the National Champions. The National Championship Foundation awarded it to both schools.

    So let me make it simple
    11 claimed National Championships
    7 named retroactively by mathematical systems
    1932 & 1933 were awarded by mathematical systems
    1947 was awarded by a poll that doesn’t exist anymore
    1948 is a completely legit claim
    1997 was a split between AP and Coaches
    So…
    michigan has 1.5 National Championships recognized by relevant voters

    But hang on to a retroactive past awarded by nerds with formulas rather than respected voters

    In 1933 seven mathematical systems existed to award National Championships. Four awarded michigan National Champions, one awarded USC, one awarded Princeton, and one awarded THE Ohio State University as National Champions (The Dunkel System). The Dunkel System is the only one still in use today. And THE Ohio State University doesn’t even try to claim that year

    kids, kids. I love college ball. All of it.! But I get aggravated when I read posts by people who are probably fairly literate, completely destroy the english language. Example, Sooner buckeye wrote; will be for not. It is actually to be for naught. Which means to come to nothing, not, means no or denial. So while throwing trash and talking smack; you should at least sound like you have a brain. In order not to sound ignorant we should not speak, in the cases of misspelling and using axoms, don’t type.

    The streak is a bad memorial for all the Michigan faithful, but let me remind the world. UM has a streak over OSU as well that if memory serves went 9 games and the overall record for UM vs. OSU is in Michigans favor (57-44-6). So GO BLUE or GO HOME…either way, Michigan rules!

    Everyone is ripping Hoke. He has turned two programs around. I mean two dreadful programs. He took Ball State to a number 12 ranking at one point Ball freakin State number 12? In his second year at San Diego State he took them to a Bowl game win. Both schools programs resembled junior college programs. Most of his loses where in his first seasons as it takes awhile to turn things around He will do the same at Michigan. Buckeye fans, you are putting your program in the hands of an 37-year-old, rookie interm coach. Be careful, dont get to cocky as getting outcoached loses more games than you think.

    Any Michigan fan who wants to give the “Look at the all-time record” argument is like the kid who hit puberty before everyone else. He dominates Jr. High sports because he’s simply bigger and faster than everyone else. Then once everyone catches up, he often becomes irrelevant or doesn’t even play sports in high school.

    With that being said, some of the best all time teams are Michigan teams…. I believe in the early 1900′s Michigan had a team that gave up like 14 points on the whole season HAHAHAHAHAHA. Now that’s a defense!!!

    As for the Michigan fans calling us cheaters, feel free to remember Dick Rod also broke rules in his tenure so with that being said, atleast we WON while we cheated.

    Oh yea, Brady cHoke is from about 20 minutes from me…. Good coach, but don’t know how he will handle a real deal program.

    Both you schools have a lot to worry about now that the Huskers come into your Conference. But as a husker fan I fear Michigan after this year more than Ohio. Brady Hoke will get better players than Ohio. He and his staff are the best recruiters in the Big Ten. Thats why im scared. Ohio cant even get the best players from their own state now. Thats the first sign you have taken a step back.

    Michigan and Ohio state are both great schools .. all this b.s going on over a sign please .. its a game !!! .. a great war some would say . But still a game .. I would love to see the old days with Michigan and Ohio state dominating the big ten those days are gone. Let’s let both schools find there way back to prominence . Settle things in November then go out to a bowl and kick other teams butts show the nation what these two great schools are really about . That’s it …. GO BLUE !!!

    WOW! Sounds like Michigan finally woke up and realized that they were asleep and need to start playing football again. Good job Michigan, bravo! let me know when you decide to actually start playing football well. Baby steps Michigan…baby steps!
