Ole Miss must have never heard about playing hard to get.
2014 linebacker recruit Clifton Garrett, a four-star prospect according to Rivals.com, Instagrammed this after receiving 54 handwritten letters from the Ole Miss coaching staff:
He also tweeted, “#OleMiss ain’t playin no games!! 54 handwritten letters today #RebelNation!!”
Ole Miss is having a surprisingly productive recruiting season, in no small part to this kind of work ethic.
College football recruiting is often rightfully criticized for its “ends justify the means” approach, but in this instance it appears Ole Miss worked within a very specific NCAA rule:
“Institutional note cards may not exceed 8 1/2 by 11 inches when opened in full…and may include only handwritten information.”
The real question is, will recruits who don’t get as much personalized love be jealous?
