There are crazy college sports fans and then there is the accusation Gannon Mendez is facing in Oklahoma.
Mendez, a huge Oklahoma State fan who allegedly provided illegal benefits to Cowboy football players such as former wide receiver Justin Blackmon, has been arrested for allegedly beating his nine-year-old son with a wooden paddle for telling a classmate at school he likes arch-rival Oklahoma more than Oklahoma State.
The 41-year-old man lives in Perkins, OK, outside Stillwater and has been charged with one count of child abuse. Mendez has also been accused of making his son run at a football field until he vomited, cutting up soap and shoving it down the boy’s throat, waking him up every 30 minutes to do pushups and telling him he will go to hell.
Needless to say, these accusations are sickening and, if true, we hope Mendez never gets another day with his son.
