La. Tech Bulldog Mascot, Tech XX, Missing

In a bizarre turn of events, Louisiana Tech’s live bulldog mascot, Tech XX, has gone missing and possibly has been dognapped.

The four-year-old bulldog was last seen Sunday night at a Ruston animal clinic where he was staying. Let outside to go to the bathroom around 8 PM, Tech XX was gone when the worker who let him out returned just five minutes later.

Dr. Patrick Sexton, the owner of the animal clinic and Tech XX’s caretaker, has put up a $1,000 reward for the bulldog and the Ruston community chipped inon  Monday by distributing flyers and starting the hashtag #FindTechXX on Twitter.

“It’s so hot and to not know whether he was taken or is lost or something else completely is scary,” Sexton told the Shreveport Times. “I just want to know he’s OK.”

Even more concerning, the Louisiana Tech fan site BleedTechBlue.com tweeted on Monday night: “A search of the area surrounding Sexton Animal Health Center is complete for Tech XX with no signs of him. It appears he has been taken.”

Anyone with information is encouraged to call the clinic at (318) 251-8283.

Why are they assuming that the dog was stolen. If it’s that important to you then why let it outside by itself? I understand he likes to do his business in private but you need to stand out there with him. All dogs will run off if you leave them alone and they see or hear something they want. – Brendan Spaar
