With the wave of crazy new uniforms for the upcoming college football season, you just knew that Oregon had to chime in with new digs of their own.
One day after Notre Dame unveiled some hideous alternate uniforms, NikeBlog.com gave us a sneak peak on Friday to two new helmets for the Ducks that are both variations of the liquid metal helmets the team wore for last January’s Rose Bowl.
The liquid metal has now mutated from a chrome helmet to a solid green version and a carbon-fiber style that might make you go cross-eyed – but is still pretty cool looking.
Re-engineering the liquid metal helmets is a great idea by Nike and Oregon as the helmets were instant hits that have now popped up on golf clubs and a dirt bike helmet.
While we weren’t originally fans of the Rose Bowl uniforms, the look has grown on us (maybe we’ve been desensitized by awful uniforms like Notre Dame’s during the offseason). Green Helmet Grade: A | Carbon Fiber Helmet Grade: A-
