In what was one of the more gruesome college basketball injuries in recent memory, Kentucky freshman center and projected No. 1 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft Nerlens Noel brutally injured his knee during a game against Florida on Tuesday night.
While the extent of the injury is not known, Noel left Florida’s O’Connell Center after writhing on the floor in pain and screaming loud enough that it could be picked up by ESPN’s microphones.
One picture of Noel’s knee bending at an extremely unnatural angle has spread like wildfire on the internet, as fans lament an injury that may have ended Noel’s college career and could jeopardize his draft status.
Here’s hoping this ends up looking a look worse than the injury is.
