Apparently, fandom of Nebraska is a lifelong pursuit that extends into the afterlife.
On Wednesday, Huskers men’s basketball coach Tim Miles posted a photo to Twitter of a Nebraska-themed casket available at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island, NE. As the Big Ten Network’s Brent Yarina points out, the Nebraska logo “conveniently faces the person’s body — and heart — when it’s closed.”
We’ve seen sports-themed caskets before for teams at both the college and professional levels, so this isn’t too far out there. And it’s much less creepy than those die-hard (pun intended) Buckeye fans who used their recently deceased friend in a coffin to make the “I” in “Ohio.”
