Notre Dame football fans have waited patiently for their team to get back to the national title game. Now that the Irish are there, supporters aren’t holding anything back in commemorating the occasion.
Case in point: One Notre Dame fan painted his front lawn to resemble a football field, complete with shadowed number markers at every pretend 10-yard interval and the Irish’s interlocking “ND” logo at “midfield.”
It’s impressive and extremely over-the-top. Truth be told, we would have expected a fan of Notre Dame’s opponent in the national championship, Alabama, to do something like this.
We hope for this fan’s sake that he has a strategy for restoring the lawn to its original state should the Irish fall on Monday.
