Weston Suggs emerged as a cult figure among NC State fans when, prior to the Wolfpack’s upset of then top-ranked Duke on Jan. 12, he channeled his inner William Wallace for an epic pregame speech to fans waiting outside Raleigh’s PNC Bank Arena.
Suggs made his glorious return on Saturday before NC State’s game against North Carolina. With a larger crowd gathered to hear what he had to say, Suggs delivered another winning speech.
“Although our rivalry dates back decades, they refuse to mention us as their rivals,” Suggs said of the “Tarholes from Chapel Hell” (in his words). “Tonight they will be reassured of their rivalry when we feast on their firstborns. These felons have not only committed thievery, larceny, and buffoonery, but in the worst sense, they have committed douchebaggery.”
And wouldn’t you know it, NC State delivered another victory. We’d be remiss if, in highlighting Suggs once again, we didn’t also acknowledge his “noble steed,” Tucker Cummings.
