It’s not uncommon for football teams to hold run-throughs in random places. On Saturday, Mississippi State’s Dan Mullen had his team do so in the parking lot of their pregame hotel.
There Bulldogs players were at 7:30 AM, the morning of their home game with Texas A&M, rehearsing what they thought would be a game plan that would unseat the Aggies. Alas, Mississippi State was outgained by the visitors by a whopping 693–310 margin in a 38–13 loss.
Despite blowout losses in the past two weeks, Mullen has Mississippi State back to respectability. Respectable to the point where he might want to put in a request for a pregame hotel that has a ballroom to stage these run-throughs. If Saturday is any indication, a parking lot isn’t doing the job as a staging ground.
