Even in advance of a big game with Notre Dame at Spartan Stadium this past Saturday, Michigan State was already looking forward to hoops season.
Last Wednesday, the school set up regulation baskets on a field on campus and gave students one half-court shot each with the chance to win season tickets to MSU’s student section, the Izzone. Twenty-one students hit their shots and claimed the 13-ticket package.
In addition, Spartans coach Tom Izzo and players Branden Dawson, Adrien Payne and Matt Costello stopped by to mix it up with their fans.
“It’s almost embarrassing to do something like this on Notre Dame Week,” Izzo said. “But the way we’re doing season tickets, it’s kind of cool we’re getting started early.”
After MSU’s tough 20–3 loss to the Irish, some Spartans fans must be thinking, “The earlier, the better.”
