Wisconsin senior running back Montee Ball was attacked by five men early Wednesday morning in Madison, WI.
Ball was taken to the hospital with head injuries but has since been released from the hospital and is being treated by the school’s sports medicine staff.
The incident report from the City of Madison describes ball being jumped by five men, being knocked to the ground and kicked. Since it does not appear that Ball knew his attackers, the incident is being investigated as an unprovoked assault.
This comes less than three months after Ball was issued a $429 trespassing ticket for being “on the porch of a home at which he was not welcome” during a Madison block party.
We’re not saying that football stars deserve special treatment, but you’d think the city of Madison would hold the player who tied Barry Sanders’ single-season TD record in higher regard.
