Mississippi State literally stumbled out of the gate during its season opener against Jackson State on Saturday.
As you can see in the photo and video below, several Bulldogs took a spill while running onto the field covered in artificial smoke at Davis Wade Stadium. Needless to say, the internet has had fun with the image. But on a more serious note, the Bulldogs should consider themselves very lucky that no one was seriously injured before the first snap of the season.
Fortunately for Mississippi State, things got better on Saturday, as MSU coasted to a 56-9 victory.
Personally, we think the smoke machine should be limited to the originators – “The U” – especially after an incident like this.
