Any hopes that Michael Jordan or his fans had of his progeny also starring in the NBA were effectively tabled on Monday when Jordan’s youngest son, Marcus, opted not to return to Central Florida’s team for his senior season.
Marcus Jordan will continue taking classes at UCF, which was hit with a one-year postseason ban earlier this month. His brother, Jeffrey, left the Knights’ program in January.
While Marcus averaged 13.7 points per game last season, his college career will best be remembered by the bizarre. His insistence to wear Air Jordans during his freshman season led adidas to terminate its sponsorship deal with the UCF athletic program.
He also made unwanted headlines earlier this year for “accidentally” tweeting to a porn star and getting arrested outside an Omaha hotel for disorderly conduct.
Let’s hope that he doesn’t try to take up baseball like his dad once tried.
