Hawaii has a new running back that no one will want to tackle.
350-pounder David Fangupo has committed to Hawaii after an impressive campaign at Kealakehe H.S. (Kailua-Kona, Hawaii) that included 534 yards and 6 touchdowns on 75 carries. Fangupo also starred as a defensive tackle in high school.
Fangupo is 6’2” and possesses supernatural agility and quick feet for his size. Versatility may be Fangupo’s greatest trait, as he also saw time on special teams kicking and punting.
“I felt like it was not real at the moment,” said Fangupo about being offered a scholarship to Hawaii. “I’m excited and feel blessed that they would do that for me.”
It’s unclear what position Fangupo will play for Hawaii, but the clip below suggests he’d be useful carrying the ball in a variety of situations.
