At this point, every new football uniform and helmet unveiled by the Maryland Terrapins leaves us scratching our head.
Friday was no exception.
One day before the Terps take on No. 8 West Virginia in Morgantown, Maryland and Under Armour combined to unveil a bizarre “White Ops” uniform that has the team looking like Siberian foot soldiers. Why they are doing this for a September game in West Virginia? Well, we have no earthly idea.
But as you can see from the pictures below, the Terps will be wearing a white variation of the state flag helmet that first turned so many heads during the 2011 season opener that comes with a gray facemask. That will be joined with white and gray uniforms that have the state flag pattern woven into the numbers on the jerseys and the camouflage on the shoes.
These aren’t the worst looking uniforms Maryland football has worn and they are getting rave reviews on Twitter, but these are just too ridiculous for our old-school taste. Grade: C+
