Maryland Football Unveils New Uniforms

Just as Oregon football has become a test kitchen for ridiculous Nike uniforms, Maryland is the canvas for Under Armour’s works of, uh, art.

Courtesy of WNST’s Twitter account is the first look at the Terrapins’ home and away football uniforms for 2012 the team unveiled during Monday’s media day.

We’re a big fan of the red-dominant jerseys with a thin, black and gold line running along the shoulder blades. (The color scheme comes from the Calvert family coat of arms on the state flag.)

Where the whole ensemble falls short, again, is the helmet. The combination of the colors on the state flag — red and white in addition to black and gold — clashes too much. And trying make it into a wing design doesn’t fly.

But hey, anything’s better than this. Grade: B-

You know it’s football season when you have articles complaining about new uniforms…

A little bit better then last year, but I still think that the Maryland Terrapin UNI’s look like the CRASH TEST DUMMIES!
