Fans in attendance at East Carolina’s 48–28 win over Houston at Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium on Saturday will remember much more than the game.
Brothers Noah and Elijah Ricafrente were selected to participate in a halftime football toss, before which a message from their father, Marine staff sergeant Joshua Ricafrente, played on the stadium video board. Noah’s and Elijah’s dad had been deployed overseas since May.
Upon completing the football toss, both Noah and Elijah were presented their prizes … by none other than their dad. The sheer look of joy on both of the kids’ faces as they run over to embrace him will bring a tear to your eye.
We reported on a similar story at a South Carolina game in early October. As long as these reunions keep happening, we’ll never get tired of writing them.
