“Money” Manziel has a pretty good ring to it. It would also be an accurate descriptor for how Texas A&M’s Heisman Trophy-winning QB spent his Saturday.
The day after he starred in the Aggies’ 42–13 Cotton Bowl victory, Johnny Manziel treated himself to the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, OK. Clearly not afraid of how people would react to a college athlete being in a casino, Manziel gleefully posed for a photo while fanning himself with a stack of bills with the caption “casino ballin.” It has since been deleted but Manziel followed that tweet with this:
Nothing illegal about being 18+ in a casino and winning money…KEEP HATING!
— Johnny Manziel (@JManziel2) January 6, 2013
Not content with apparently winning big, Manziel then took the party to Avenu Lounge to celebrate at the Dallas night club. DJ Avi tweeted a picture (below right) of the two of them Sunday morning at the club, with Johnny Football appearing to hold an open bottle of the very expensive Dom Perignon champagne. The problem: Manziel is only 20 and doesn’t turn 21 until December 6th.
This probably won’t go over well with A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin, as Manziel was arrested last June for fighting and having a fake ID.
Has any recent Heisman winner embraced his fame to the extent of Manziel? Whether it’s being a guest on both David Lettermen and Jay Leno, sitting courtside at NBA games or now reveling in being a high roller at a casino, Johnny Football is living the life and then some.
